Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, yesterday, said he would defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, before 12 noon on election day if he gets the presidential ticket of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Umahi, who is also the Chairman, South East Governor’s Forum, made the claim when the national leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) led by its National President, Chris Isiguzoro, and National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), paid him a courtesy visit at New Presidential Lodge, Government House, Abakaliki.

The governor criticised the show of financial imprudence exhibited by the presidential aspirants of the PDP during their party’s primary election in Abuja, adding that Nigerians should judge all the candidates by their works in the past.

He maintained that he left PDP because the South East was marginalised under the reign of the PDP, stressing that the achievements he has so far recorded under the APC administration remains unbeatable and indelible.

He charged media practitioners to partner his administration in every sector and advised them to guide against any behaviour that is capable of putting the media community in bad light.
