Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom, has vowed to maintain a clear head and avoid distraction, especially from the opposition.

This came against the backdrop of developments on the floor of the Senate, which witnessed fracas on Wednesday as Senator Godswill Akpabio tried to respond to an allegation that the all Progressives Congress (APC) was plotting crisis to compromise the polls.

While Governor Udom is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akpabio, his predecessor, recently defected to the opposition APC from PDP.

While speaking to State House correspondents after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa yesterday, Udom noted that while only God ultimately gives power, he was not perturbed about losing re-election next year.
