No fewer than 10 persons have been feared killed during clashes between Fulani natives and farmers in two villages of Dandi and Suru council areas of Kebbi State.

An eyewitness, Issa Kamba, told newsmen that the casualties followed an attack by some Fulani people on the farmers in their farms. The affected villages include Sabo-Gari in Dandi local council and Giroki under Aljanare, a district town under Suru council area.

It was gathered that the clashes were engendered by a land dispute at Sabo- Gari, a border settlement between the two local councils. The Guardian learnt that seven farmers and three Fulani people died during the confrontation.

But community sources however, told reporters that more 10 persons lost their lives to the clashes.Contacted, the Divisional Police Officer declined comments.

However, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu made mention of the fracas while swearing in a former Chief Magistrate and Director of Administration and Trainings at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hajia Ramatu Adamu Gulma, as a commissioner in Birnin Kebbi. The governor said he was visiting the areas to restore sanity.
