IABC, experts to tackle communication issues in pandemic

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the West Africa Interest Group Chapter and communications experts, will today, host a webinar to tackle communication issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

THE International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the West Africa Interest Group Chapter and communications experts, will today, host a webinar to tackle communication issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement issued by President of IABC Nigeria, Chido Nwakanma, the webinar, which would feature five communication experts, would tackle opportunities and challenges that the coronavirus pandemic had caused in the management of communication by companies and individuals in West Africa.

It noted that IABC West Africa Interest Group was part of the African Chapter of IABC that provides a platform for West African business communicators, networking opportunities and avail experts the opportunity to mentor and profess their expertise to mentees in the profession.

He said questions on how organisations fared in the management of communication of the COVID-19 would be asked.

He also explained that the webinar would focus on lessons professionals and other stakeholders could learn from the challenges the virus had posed to private organisations, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and state governments.

Nwakanma further disclosed that the webinar would feature panelists such as Communications Director of GE’s Gas Power business for Sub-Saharan Africa Anne Ezeh, certified regulation specialist and professional multi-stakeholder communication and relationship manager with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Omoniyi Ibietan.

Others are, Strategic Communications, Change Management & Partnerships Lead for the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Ukwori Ejibe and Director of Membership, IABC Africa Regional Board, Sola Abulu.
