The Igbobi College Old Boys’ Association (ICOBA) has given kudos to the former Military Governor of Lagos State, the late Air Commodore Gbolahan Mudashiru, describing him as a distinguished noble Nigerian of ICOBA 1963/1965 set for laying a very good foundation and structure for Lagos State during his tenure upon which successive governments have been building upon.

President of ICOBA, Olumuyiwa Kinoshi, gave the commendation, yesterday, at the choral evening organised in remembrance of Mudashiru, who was appointed Military Governor of Lagos State between January 1984 and August, 1986 during the military regime of Muhammadu Buhari and his successor, Ibrahim Babangida.

Kinoshi said Mudashiru deserved to be remembered and honoured for raising N1 billion to improve infrastructure of Igbobi College.
MEANWHILE, a strong member of ICOBA at the event, former Bishop of Ife, Rt. Rev. Oluranti Odubogun (rtd), has lamented the state of education in Nigeria.

He berated the government for doing a disservice to education.

He also blamed the government for the suspended Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike, saying that previous governments made several promises they never fulfilled while the current government was only finding a way.

He wondered if a sincere and committed government could treat the future leaders of the country the way it has done.
