Igbo president nearer than Biafra actualisation, says Ohanaeze youths

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has said that the 2023 Igbo Presidency project is much easier to achieve than the actualisation of the sovereign state of Biafra.

In a statement in Abakaliki yesterday, the national president of OYC, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, noted that the group would, next month, inaugurate the national committee on 2023 Igbo Presidency project, to lobby leaders across the zones.Isiguzoro noted that to address the perceived marginalisation of the South East and strengthen the Biafra agitation for unity, justice, fairness and equity, the Igbo should be supported to take a shot at the presidency in 2023.

He further stated that “the process of achieving Biafra’s independence is more cumbersome and complicated than the Igbo Presidency project”.The statement read in part: “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide will on November 1, 2019, inaugurate the 2023 National Committee on Igbo presidency project.

“We will start to lobby stakeholders in the two major political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), through strong persuasion to break new barriers and build bridges across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria by continuous appeal to their conscience.
“South East remains an integral part of Nigeria.”
