The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has commissioned an ultra modern police station at Ugborikoko, Warri, Delta State, built by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, a pipeline surveillance firm owned by former Niger Delta agitator, Government Ekpemupolo, Tompolo.
The new Ugborikoko Divisional Headquarters, rebuilt and furnished by Tantita, features modern facilities designed to boost law enforcement in the oil-rich region.
Tantita also donated two operational Hilux vehicles, a 30kVA soundproof generator, a 30kVA solar system for 24-hour power supply, CCTV cameras, computer systems, air-conditioning units, TV sets, and modern office equipment.
The IGP, represented by AIG Zone 5, Salman-Dogo Garba, described the initiative as “a landmark demonstration of private sector partnership in national security.”
The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, lauded Tantita, saying the pipeline surveillance firm has fully keyed into his MORE agenda with its numerous projects across the state. He was represented by Dr Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the State Government.
He said, “Tantita has the DNA of the enterprise of the future. The DNA enterprise of the future talks about genuine Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and this is a remarkable CSR.
“You have been at the forefront of community development, we are not unaware of the numerous numbers of drains and roads you have done in numerous communities unrelated to your business.
“You are not just a company that chases profit, you are a company that wishes your neighbours good. You run an all-inclusive programme that makes the environment a better place to live.”
The Managing Director of Tantita, High Chief Kestin Pondi, said the new facility comprises a rebuilt police station, a quarter guard post, a generator house, improved drainage systems, and a remodeled police hall.
Reiterating the company’s commitment to rebuilding peace and improving security across Warri, Effurun, and environs, Pondi said the new police station is a symbol of the collaboration between the government, private sector, and the people.
“The Nigeria Police Force is our first line of defense in securing lives and property. By investing in this project, we are investing in peace and sustainable development,” Pondi said.
Pondi reaffirmed Tantita’s commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of boosting daily crude oil output to 2.06 million barrels by 2025 and four million barrels by 2030. He urged stakeholders in the oil sector to increase pipeline utilisation and phase out barge operations where necessary.
