Ikoyi Club holds dance party to herald 79th anniversary

Ahead of the 79th anniversary of Ikoyi Club 1938 and as part of the activities to mark the Ileya celebration, the foremost elite Lagos club at the weekend organised an Ileya dance for its member, with popular Fuji artiste, Saheed Osupa, serenading members and guests to an enjoyable moment.

The event had in attendance the club chairman, Mr. Babatunde Akinleye, general committee members, past chairmen, and notable Lagos socialites. The dance, which took place at the club lawn, started around 9p.m. and members were treated to a long night of entertainment and excitement.

On September 29, 1938, Ikoyi Club officially came into being through the merger of the European Club and Lagos Golf Club. The 79th anniversary event is a weeklong activities beginning from Monday, September 25 and culminating with a family fun day and bazaar on Independence Day, Sunday October 1.

The club chairman, Akinleye, thanked members for their steadfastness and commitment in striving to make Ikoyi Club, the number one family club in the country.
