Ikpeazu appoints new chief of staff to coordinate May 29 transition

Following the exit of Okey Ahiwe as Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Chukwuemeka Enwereji was, yesterday, appointed as a replacement. Ahiwe had vacated the office after emerging the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship nominee to replace late Prof. Uchenna Ikonne, who died on January 23.

Following the exit of Okey Ahiwe as Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Chukwuemeka Enwereji was, yesterday, appointed as a replacement. Ahiwe had vacated the office after emerging the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship nominee to replace late Prof. Uchenna Ikonne, who died on January 23.

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, who announced Enwereji’s appointment in a statement, stated that the new Chief of Staff is to immediately begin coordinating activities in the governor’s office, and ensure seamless transition formalities of Ikpeazu’s administration on May 29, which is about 53 days from today.

According to the CPS, Enwereji is “an established player in the financial services sector of the Nigerian economy, who   served as Company Secretary and, later, General Manager/Country Head of Travelex, a global Financial Services provider.”
