THE scheduled formal handover to the new Abia State governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of the actionable programme on Abia State Governorship, which was articulated last year by Abians resident in North America under the aegis of Abia State National Association of North America (ASNA-NA) USA Inc., will be effected this week in Atlanta Georgia USA.

The action plan, which was articulated at the group’s leadership conference held in September 2014 in Houston Texas with the theme “Abia 2015: The Way Forward” had as participants, Abians at home and Diaspora, industry captains, traditional and religious rulers, professionals and politicians, among others.

The handover of the action plan, the implementation of which ASNA-NA offered to facilitate, is part of the activities of ASNA-NA’s 2015 biennial national conference, which will kick off on Friday, October 9, at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Airport North, 3437 Bobby Brown Pkwy, East Point GA, 30344.

Eneogwe described the Atlanta convention as world-class, adding that many dignitaries, including the Governor of Georgia, Mayor of Atlanta, Acting Nigerian Ambassador to the USA, Chairman of Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Anglican Bishop of Aba Dioceses, would be in attendance.
He stated that Abians and their friends have been invited to “ this high-profile convention that will feature expert presentations on health, environment, project execution and their implications for Abia and also showcase performances by our children and youths, the lunching of Abia music — Ndi Abia Mewa Ibara — and Abia Women dance.”

According to the statement, “it is hoped that this convention is also an opportunity to ask and answer many questions about our state and more importantly, hear from
Presently, there is palpable indication that many Abians are gearing to attend this convention especially those that have not found it easy to meet with the state governor at home who believe that the convention would afford them this chance. Among these, The Guardian gathered, are those lobbying for political office appointments and existing and new contractors prospecting for government contracts.
