The Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, has tasked all internal auditors in the public sector to brace up to their responsibility in adopting international best practices as prescribed by the World Bank in the discharge of their duties.

The Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, has tasked all internal auditors in the public sector to brace up to their responsibility in adopting international best practices as prescribed by the World Bank in the discharge of their duties.

Idris said this at the opening of a five-day retreat organised by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) for the Internal auditors in Kaduna.

According to him, the Internal Audit Modernisation project, which commenced in 2010 with the appointment of Cowater International of Carade as consultants, has been a model for the OAGF, pointing out that since then, a good number of staff of Internal Audit of Ministries, Departments and Agencies “have been trained in different aspects of the programme in order to increase and enhance the professional capacity/performance of the internal auditors.”
