Imo indigenes in Ibeju Lekki honour illustrious sons

Indigenes of Imo State living in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, under the auspices of Imo Improvement Association (IIA), on Sunday, December 10, 2023, took out time to honour some of their illustrious sons, who have distinguished themselves in various fields of human endeavour during an End of the Year Party and Award celebration.

The event was well attended with eminent personalities of Imo state extraction and other stakeholders in Ibeju Lekki Local Council and other parts of Lagos State in attendance.

In a statement by the Communication and Media Strategist, IIA, Ben Igbokwe, the event provided a unique opportunity and avenue for Ndi Imo to interact, network and reflect on their activities, achievements and challenges encountered during the year, while looking forward to the coming year with great optimism despite prevailing security and socio-economic challenges in the country.

Chairman, IIA, Chinedu Ibeagwa, in his welcome speech, commended the resilience and industry of Ndi Imo in Ibeju Lekki and their ability to live in peace and harmony with their neighbours, as well as their host communities.

Among those honoured at the event was a Lagos based industrialist and philanthropist and Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UCAK Nigeria Limited, Uche Akuneziri, who was conferred with the Grand Patron of IIA.
