INEC fixes Rivers supplementary polls April 15

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Rivers State has fixed supplementary election for Port Harcourt II, Khana and Gokana Federal Constituencies for Saturday, April 15.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Johnson Alalibo Sinikiem, in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday, urged all political parties and the  general public to get prepared for the elections.

The affected Federal Constituency polling units listed in the statement include Khana/Gokana polling units 04 , 07 and 42 Pus while for Port Harcourt Constituency, the units are 5, 10  to  18 and 377.

The Commission,  while promising a successful conclusion of the elections, called on all registered voters in the affected polling units to come out en-masse to cast their votes and to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner, in accordance with laid down guidelines.

The statement reads: “The Commission calls on all registered voters in the affected Registration Areas/Polling Units to come out en-masse on the above-mentioned date to cast their votes and to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and in accordance with laid down guidelines.”
