INEC gets 77,255 new voters in Kano
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that only 77,255 of the 128,628 voters registered ahead of the 2023 general elections are eligible to vote.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Riskua Arabi, stated this at a workshop on electoral reportage organised by INEC and Kano Correspondents Chapel, yesterday, in Kano.
According to him, out of the registered number, 51,373 (39.9 per cent) were invalid because of multiple registration or other issues, as at January 14, 2022.
On online voter registration, Arabi said as of Monday, April 25, 2022, the 312,300 registrants had not been completely validated by the commission.
