The Independent National Electoral Commission have lost one of its most experienced residential electoral commissioner, the electoral body said on Sunday.

Baba Abba Yusuf, according to the statement released by INEC’s spokesperson Rose Oriaran-Anthony, was the REC for Taraba State.

The electoral body said Yusuf died on Saturday night at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where he has been on admission for ‘sometime’.

INEC said Yusuf has been buried in Maiduguri.

Yusuf was appointed in 2010 as REC and has served at Benue and Adamawa before moving to Taraba State, where he was until his demise.
