Insecurity: Ganduje summons expanded security meeting
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, yesterday, summoned an emergency security meeting ahead of the general elections.
The expanded security meeting held at the Government House attracted head of security agencies, including Commissioner of Police and counterpart from the military, Directorate for State Services (DSS), as well as traditional rulers, was apparently meant to nip in the bud, the resurgence of insurgency in Northeast.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the governor revealed that the emergency meeting became pertinent to synergise security architecture in the state.
Ganduje said the gathering was to set precautionary measures against unforeseen circumstance in Kano.
He stated that while Kano enjoyed relative peace over the years among sister states in the zone, proactive measures were required to prevent spill over of emerging unrest in neighbouring states.
