Investigate Ahmad’s nomination, Niger youths, CSOs urge Buhari, Saraki
Following the recent nomination of Mrs. Aisha Ahmad as a Deputy Governor Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the people of Bida Council in Niger State, comprising civil societies and youth organisation, have jointly called on President Muhammadu Buhari and Senate President Bukola Saraki to investigate and possibly reversed the nomination of Mrs. Ahmad as Deputy Governor of CBN in the interests of peace and the banking sector.
In separate protests and petitions against her nomination signed by Abdullahi T. Garba India, Chairman of the state chapter of the Buhari Youth Organisation, Chidi Nwankwo Smudgy and Idris Abdullahi, Chairman Youth Solidarity Forum, the groups condemned Ahmad’s nomination for the position to fill the vacancy for North Central Zone, which they said has been allocated to Niger State.
According to the statements, their reason for rejecting her nomination is based on the fact that, “She is not the most competent person to represent our state, which has many seasoned and experienced persons who served in both commercial banks and CBN, neither is she the most qualified female, if gender was a criterion.
