IPOB accuses security operatives of veiled attacks on innocent citizens

Igbo separatist organisation, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has denounced the alleged killing of Biafrans by security operatives disguised as ‘unknown gunmen’.

It particularly cautioned the alleged perpetrators of the killing of innocent persons in Okporo and Umutanze in Orlu, Imo State, to stop or face mass resistance.

The group disclosed this in a statement signed by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, and made available to newsmen in Awka, yesterday.

It accused the Nigerian army and police of killing people in Biafra land and burning their houses while blaming the actions on unknown gunmen. It also called on the police to immediately release persons they picked and tagged Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives or charge them to court.

The statement reads in part: “The Nigeria Police should stop parading innocent people and tagging them ESN personnel because nobody is missing in IPOB. Parading innocent persons as ESN operatives shows that the police and army have failed and don’t know their job.

“Since government abandoned their duty to focus on dishing out false information to the public, we also are out to expose them. Those you paraded before the public are not ESN members. Nigeria must stop ridiculing herself before the world because everyone is watching her activities.

“If this secret genocide is not halted, both the perpetrators and their sponsors will be dealt with in no distant future. It is regrettable that some shameless politicians would connive with oppressors to kill their own who committed no crime other than demand their freedom from the Nigerian contraption.”

“These ‘Efulefus’ and evil politicians decided to sponsor the Nigerian army and police to attack innocent Biafrans in Orlu and other places in Biafra land, to implicate IPOB and ESN.

“We are warning the politicians and traitors among us supporting this evil agenda to call it quits or brace up for the wrath of the people. We are aware that Fulani terrorists in Abuja instructed Hope Uzodimma (Imo State governor) to implicate IPOB and ESN. But we will prove to them that we are smarter.

“It is ridiculous to think that IPOB, which has been operating for many years, will now suddenly start killing.”
