The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Germany has suspended, indefinitely, Kingsley Kanu, the younger brother to its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, for alleged infraction and anti-IPOB activities, aimed at bringing the group to disrepute.

The group advised Kingsley to understand that Biafra’s struggle is beyond family affair, warning that further violation of IPOB’s code of conduct will have serious legal consequences.

It also noted that IPOB in Germany is a registered non-profit organisation under Germany’s laws, adding that Kingsley is just a unit member of IPOB in Landsberg AM Lech, Germany.

A statement signed by the National Coordinator of IPOB, Germany branch, Collins Chinedu, which was made available to newsmen, yesterday, by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, further alleged that Kingsley has been using his affiliation to Kanu for unmerited favours, placing himself above every rule and guideline interest of the group.

The statement entitled, ‘Suspension of IPOB Membership of Kingsley Kanu,’ reads: “We, members of IPOB in Germany, wish to draw the attention of IPOB family members worldwide about series of anti-IPOB activities of Kingsley Kanu, which are aimed at bringing the IPOB family in Germany to disrepute, and, by extension, disorganising the larger IPOB family worldwide. The following are some of his offences in violation of laid down principles.

“First, Kingsley has been in the habit of flagrantly flouting every IPOB code of conduct, thereby, seeing himself above laws, and often throwing every decorum to the winds.

“Second, he has been reporting fellow hard working members to German Criminal Police, contrary to IPOB’s code of conduct and violation of his oath to the group.

“He has been issuing orders to superior officers in the hierarchy of IPOB without approval of the leadership, imposing and parading an expelled IPOB member, Ogbonna Abraham, as the new National Coordinator in Germany with the intent to cause division within the group’s structure in Germany.”

“He has been ordering his purported National Coordinator in Germany to create another principal servants forum through which IPOB members are being lobbied to join his illegal group.”
