ISO accredits Ajimobi’s ABC medical laboratory

Medical experts and laboratory scientists, yesterday, stressed the need for collaborative efforts between the government and private sector to build a strong, solid, affordable, reliable and dependable international standard laboratory system for effective diagnosis of diseases.

The experts, including Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora; former Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole; former Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Onikepo Akande, among others, spoke, yesterday, in Ibadan, Oyo State, at the ISO accreditation certificate presentation to Access to Basic Medical Care (ABC) Diagnostic Foundation, founded by wife of former Governor of Oyo State, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi.

In his remarks, Mamora commended Ajimobi’s wife for having the courage and determination to build such a medical laboratory diagnostic facility without a profit-orientation motive.

In her remarks, Mrs. Ajimobi described the birth of ABC as a burden in her heart, saying: “The desire to see people enjoy quality healthcare was my motivation and that still drives us. Our drive and commitment to provide equitable, accessible and quality health services for all and sundry in Oyo and its environs led us to found ABC.”
