Iyayi for burial March 23

The burial ceremony of business mogul and renowned philanthropist, Dr. Iyayi Efianayi, will hold from Thursday, March 21, to Sunday, March 24.

Reeling out activities to herald the burial rites, eldest son of the deceased, Dr. Caesar Osaheni-Iyayi, said Interment will take place on Saturday, March 23, to be followed by a reception at Iyayi Homestead Egba during which veteran juju musician, King Sunny Ade, will serenade guests, while Ambassador Osayomore Joseph will take his turn on Sunday, March 24.

According to Osaheni-Iyayi, the funeral ceremony will commence on March 21, with a Service of Songs at Iyayi Homestead, Egba Crescent, Ugbor GRA, Benin City, Edo State.

Other activities include an interdenominational funeral service at the Main Auditorium of Ugbowo Campus of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin City on March 22. The body will depart the UNIBEN Main Auditorium for Iyayi Homestead, Egba Community, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo for lying-in-state.

The late Iyayi Efianayi was born on January 6, 1931 in Egba and died October 11, 2018 in France on his way to Nigeria from the United States of America where he went for a medical check-up.
