Jega seeks review of youth empowerment policies to check insecurity
Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Jega, has sought review of youth empowerment policies to check the increasing criminality in the country.
Besides, he wants Nigerians to pressurise government in engaging them productively. Jega, who spoke on youth potential and national development in Kano, drew the nexus between the growing youth population and criminality in the land.
At the event organised by a Kano-based non-governmental organisation, League and Initiative for Youth Awareness (LIYA), the don attributed the rampant insecurity in Nigeria to lack of right policies and enabling environment to harness the nation’s positive features.
