Jigawa State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for youth development in the state.
Speaking at Government House, Dutse, yesterday, Governor Umar Namadi raised the alarm over increase in the number of unemployed youths in the state, urging government and stakeholders to promptly address the situation.
“Government and stakeholders at all levels should join hands in addressing youth unemployment through skills training and empowerment,” he said, adding that the number of unemployed youths in the country should be a source of concern to any responsible leader.
Namadi noted that the security challenges, disturbances and other social vices were products of poverty and unemployment.
He maintained that with emphasis on skills acquisition and empowerment, the narrative could change for better.
