Jigawa State Government has sued the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Sani Garun-Gabbas, over alleged non-prosecution of an appellate case after collecting fees for the job.

Jigawa State Government has sued the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Sani Garun-Gabbas, over alleged non-prosecution of an appellate case after collecting fees for the job.

In the suit filed at the High Court of Jigawa State by his successor, Dr. Musa Aliyu, the state alleged that Garun-Gabbas collected N7.7 million during his tenure as the state’s A-G, to appeal a case at the Supreme Court, but failed to do so.

The writ of summons dated November 5, 2021, is seeking the court’s order to mandate Garun-Gabbas, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), to refund the amount paid to him, since there was no proof that he worked on the case for which the money was paid.
