Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday released and transmitted the final list of his commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly with former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) in Lagos State, Mrs. Lola Akande and the state’s Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, making the list.

Others are Executive Secretary of Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LSWRC), Kabiru Ahmed; former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s Special Adviser on Transportation, Anofi Elegushi; a former Chairperson, Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke; a former House of Representatives member, Moruf Akinderu Fatai; Chief Executive Officer, Impact Hub, Solape Hammond; a 2015 governorship aspirant under the platform of the APC in Lagos State, Tokunbo Wahab; Oladele Ajayi, Oluwatoyin Fayinka, Olanrewaju Sanusi, Bonu Solomon Saanu and Shulamite Olufunke Adebolu.

The list came out four weeks after the governor sent the first batch of the list to the lawmakers for screening.A statement signed by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, said the second list had names of accomplished politicians and technocrats who “understand the current need of Lagos” and the development agenda of the governor.

He said the selection process was rigorous because of the need to constitute the best team that would serve Lagos in line with the Sanwo-Olu administration’s vision of delivering a city-state that will rank among the top most livable cities in the world.

Meanwhile, the governor has restated his commitment to speedily complete all on-going projects in the state health sector in line with his administration’s drive to improve access to quality and efficient healthcare services.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Titilayo Goncalves, who stated this yesterday during an inspection tour of soon to be completed Maternal and Childcare Centre (MCC), Lekki, Eti-Osa, said that the governor was committed to achieving universal health coverage.

“One of such projects is this maternal and childcare facility, which is strategically located here in Eti-Osa to provide maternal and child health services and improve the maternal and child health indices of the area,” the Permanent Secretary said in a statement.
