Kaduna commissioners, SUBEB chair on trial for false asset declaration
The Kaduna State Commissioners for Internal Security, Samuel Peter; Finance, Shizzer Bada; and the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Tijjani Abdullahi, are set to be arraigned on November 7 before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Veronica Kato, Head of the Press Unit at the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), in Abuja.
According to Kato, the three officials have been advised to step aside from their positions pending the hearing and determination of a motion filed on Oct. 21, along with the charges brought against them by the CCB.
She noted that the arraignment order followed an ex parte application filed by the CCB regarding allegations of violations of the CCB and Tribunal Act, CAP C15 LFN 2004.
Kato stated that the bureau acted after receiving a petition against the officials for alleged infractions of the Code of Conduct for public officers.
Following a thorough investigation, the CCB proceeded to initiate the legal process at the Tribunal.
