Terrorists are demanding N10 million ransom to release body of a dead victim, the late Obadiah Ibrahim, who was kidnapped few weeks ago, the family has revealed.

The deceased’s brother, Kefas Obadiah told newsmen at the weekend that the bandits had collected over N3 million ransom earlier, but refused to release the victim who was kidnapped in October 2022.

He said: “My brother’s name is Obadiah Ibrahim, he was kidnapped early October in Sabon Gaya on his way back from Abuja to Kaduna. Although I wasn’t the one communicating with the bandits, there was a negotiator. Earlier the bandits demanded N200 million and later settled for about N3 million.

“They said we should bring the money. After giving them the ransom they told us the money was for their foodstuff, which got finished, and that we should go and bring N15 million.  They later came down to N5 million and three motorbikes and later collected one bike. After collecting a bike we didn’t hear from them again. We tried to communicate with them, but unfortunately, we were unable.”

“Then on Thursday when the negotiator called them, they said our brother is dead. We thought they were joking. When we continued they threatened to track the negotiator and come for him, if he did not stop calling their line. They said their own men were arrested by police, tied to a tree and killed. So they vent their anger on our brother because of what the police did to their fellow bandits.

According to them,” Ibrahim died on Monday and they informed us on Thursday. We asked for his corpse and they said we should pay them N10m if we want his corps , that  they’ll not work for us free of charge”

The bandits also said swore to “Allah”, who made them, that if we bring the money they’ll release the corpse in three days.

MEANWHILE, a young man of 20, who had been missing for seven days has been found dead in a thick forest of Kururuwan Ka Banza at the back of Zakaliyo and Babale communities in Jos North Local Council of Plateau State.

The decomposing body of the boy was found after a seven-day search in that thick forest with his two eyes and penis removed.
Sources said the matter has been reported to the police post in the area, while investigations have commenced.

The remains of the deceased had been buried at the place where his corpse was found because the body was in bad shape.
