Kebbi government receives 30 freed FGC students
Kebbi State Government has confirmed the release of 30 abducted students of Federal Government College (FGC), Birnin Yauri, after four months in captivity.
While addressing the students at Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Governor Abubakar Bagudu, thanked God for their release and urged the students to take their abduction as a trial from God.
Bagudu said efforts were still ongoing to secure the release of the remaining students.
He directed that the students should undergo medical screening and be supported before they’re reunited with their families.
The 30 freed abductees comprised three teachers (two men and one woman) and 27 students (two girls and 25 boys).
Journalists were not allowed to take photographs of the released students, due to security concerns.
