Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has assured Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) of necessary support to facilitate improved power supply to the state.
He stated this when Managing Director (MD)/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KAEDCO, Yusuf Usman Yahaya, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the governor said his administration would support the company to boost electricity supply to the state for businesses to thrive.
“I am going to involve all the stakeholders in this journey so that there will be sanity in the process. It is also a welcome development that the company will embark on sensitisation programme, as this will go a long way in creating awareness among electricity consumers,” he said.
RESPONDING, Yahaya told the governor that they were in Government House to congratulate him on his victory at the polls and to also establish a synergy between the company and the state government.
He lamented non-payment of electricity bills by consumers and appealed to the state government to support the company on campaign for prompt payment of the electricity bills.
The MD, however, pledged support and cordial working relationship with the new administration in the state as it had been with the previous administration.
