KESIEC insists on October 26 for Kebbi LG polls
The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) has declared that the October 26, 2019 date for council election in the state remains sacrosanct.
KESIEC disclosed that 51 political parties had indicated preparedness to participate in the election.
According to the KESIEC Commissioner in charge of Media and Publicity, Alhaji Mohammed Dabai, nothing has happened to warrant a change in date as being speculated.
Dabai, who briefed journalists shortly after the stakeholders’ meeting at the commission’s office in Birnin Kebbi, said the meeting was to streamline plans for peaceful elections.
