Abductors of a 90-year-old mother of the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Rt. Hon. Kombowei Benson has demanded the sum of N500 million for her release while the sum of N200 million was demanded the release of Tari Ajanamih, the owner of the popular nightclub known as Club 64.
Attempts to confirm the ransom demanded from the spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police failed, as a member of the family of the abducted club owner, who spoke in confidence confirmed that the family had been contacted to pay the ransom.
“It was shocking when they were demanding for N200 million. I hope and pray that they release our brother unhurt,” he said.
Recall that Bayelsa SSG mother, Madam Betinah Benson, was abducted at her residence in the Old Assembly Quarters, Yenagoa. Her abductors were said to have been dressed in military uniform.
A week after, gunmen reportedly abducted a popular nightclub owner identified as Tari Ajanami, at his building project site along Otiotio Road in the state capital.
