Kolade Afeez Siyanbola Oladigbolu: A prince in charge of social, educational projects in Nigeria

Kolade Afeez Siyanbola Oladigbolu, an August 10, 1985, birthright Nigerian prince and entrepreneur, is a grandson of the 40th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abubakar Adedokun Siyanbola Oladigbolu, who served from 1944 until his death. Oladigbolu is similarly related to the current Alaafin, Oba Hakeem Abimbola Owoade I, as a first cousin and is related to late Lamidi Adeyemi III, the immediate former Alaafin.

His basic education was at Asogo, Oyo, St Mary RCM Primary School, and secondary at Islamic Comprehensive High School, Akinyele, Ibadan. He proceeded to the Federal College of Fishery and Marine Technology in Victoria Island, Lagos, for higher studies and holds qualifications from the Regional Maritime University, Accra, Ghana, such as CW, STCW, COC, and RM.

Oladigbolu began his seafaring career as a third officer on transatlantic vessels. He retired from active sailing in 2010 at the tender age of 25 and went into business.

He has been involved in real estate development since the founding of Royal Colony Homes in 2010. Some of his leadership roles include chairman of Ocean Track Holding, majority shareholder in Alkhafiz Energy Limited, CEO of Captain Black Heavy Duty and Auto Limited, and chairman of Afcom Global Media Limited. His real estate developments have offered over 150 housing units in Lagos in the first quarter of 2025, as well as over 600 shopping complexes.

Oladigbolu has also engaged in social and community development programs. Specifically, he has set up initiatives that encourage national cohesion and local culture. The initiatives target youth empowerment, gender balance, and economic development with an emphasis on societal integration and community development. These initiatives are being seen as part of a broader plan for addressing social problems and achieving sustainable development in Nigeria.

His activities can span beyond Nigeria as housing schemes are to be relocated to Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, South Africa, and London. His social and educational initiatives are proof of his commitment to using his power to ensure societal growth and stability.

Oladigbolu’s work towards community-based programming works to recognise enduring efforts in Nigeria toward guaranteeing national integration and social cohesion through purposeful programs for youth and vulnerable groups. His role in strengthening such initiatives positions him as a relevant character in Nigeria’s social development landscape.
