Kwara, HerVest partner to help 1,000 women farmers

The project, which is in collaboration with HerVest, an inclusive fintech firm, will train 500 rural female farmers across the state and make finance available to them.

Centering on best agronomy practices and financial literacy, the training is designed to enable lady farmers make informed business decisions while providing them with access to credit, key inputs and premium markets to grow their farm enterprises.

The HerVest team, led by the Technical Adviser on Agriculture, Abdulquawiy Olododo, visited the Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi on April 1, 2022.

During the visit, the Chief Executive Officer/co-founder of HerVest, Mrs. Solape Akinpelu, emphasised HerVest’s mission to bridge the $42 billion gender finance gap in Africa.

The deputy governor applauded the groundbreaking project and expressed the state’s readiness to support it, while also validating the need for gender inclusion in global entrepreneurship through agriculture.
