Kwara State Police Commissioner, Paul Odama, has pledged deployment of all resources at the arsenal of his Command to rescue Abdulmumini Yusuf, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), serving at the Area Command in Ilorin, the state capital, who has been kidnapped.

Odama, who disclosed this yesterday in Ilorin through the Command’s spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi, said nothing would deter his personnel from fighting against any form of insecurity in the state.

“Yes, it’s true that the ASP was abducted, but we are still on it. Kwara Command is tirelessly working towards rescuing the abducted officer even as the motive for the abduction is still sketchy.

“The incident, as serious as it is, has not diminished the resolve of the Command to protect life and property of citizens,” he said.

Recall that Yusuf was abducted on Tuesday night, while he was about to enter his house in Ogidi area, Ilorin East Local Council of Ilorin, after work.

A native of the area, Jamiu Abdulganiyu, said the development has thrown the community into fear and wondered how a police officer could be brazenly kidnapped.

Speaking on the incident, Secretary of Community Policing Advisory Committee in the state, Shola Muse, said the development highlighted the growing insecurity in the state.

Muse said the security situation is getting worse and urged security agencies in the state to brace up and put the situation under control.
