Kwara to renovate 420 schools
The Kwara government is to renovate 420 primary school classrooms across the 16 local councils of the state.
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, who disclosed this while addressing his All Progressives Congress (APC) party faithful at the monthly stakeholders’ meeting in Ilorin, added that the move was in line with his administration’s quest to provide a conducive environment for learning and teaching.
According to the governor, “all ongoing projects will be completed as part of our efforts at providing quality and necessary infrastructure in the state. Small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) would also be given adequate attention by this administration to boost economic activities and empower our people.”
He assured the party stalwarts that government would continue to pay contractors through the Kwara Infrastructure Fund (IF-K).
On the N5 billion London and Paris Club loan refunds, Ahmed said N1.8 billion of the proceeds had been disbursed to the councils and colleges of education to augment salaries.
