The management of Kwara State University, yesterday, declared that its Repository (KWASU IR,) has been listed on the African Digital Research Repositories.
The Institutional Repository (IR) is a significant digital component in the archival and provision of academic publication and information resources. The University Librarian, Prof. Abdulsalam Abiodun Salman, described the listing as a “positive development that would enhance the institution’s visibility, and boost local and global rankings.”
According to him, the exercise improves access to research outputs, and promotes knowledge sharing and collaboration, while enriching the teaching and learning experience at the institution.
Salman lauded the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, whose proactiveness and support he said, led to the establishment of the repository
He expressed confidence that the KWASU IR would enhance research activities within and outside the university.
“To get listed on African Digital Research Repositories, KWASU developed a rigorous submission and review process to ensure high-quality content,” a statement by the institution’s image maker, Saeedat Aliyu, explained.
