‘Lack of capacity hinders local businesses’
The Bayelsa State Government has said that lack of capacity hinders the growth of local businesses in the state.
Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Business Development, Braboke Enaibagha, said this at a Business Linkage Seminar organised by the ministry in partnership with its Youth Development counterpart.
He said this was why Governor Seriake Dickson sustained the enactment of policies and programmes to stimulate the growth of local entrepreneurs since the inception of his government.
The commissioner noted that the state government’s single digit loan scheme was a deliberate step to allow free access to credit facility and establishment of the Izon-Ibe Microfinance Bank.
He also pointed that the state government would continue to play pivotal role to grow local businesses, which would result to increase in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and accelerate socio-infrastructure development of the state.
