Lady found dead in hotel room

An unidentified girl has been found dead in a hotel in Amukpe area of Sapele, Delta State after a tryst with her yet-to-be-identified partner.

It was gathered that the deceased had lodged in the hotel on Wednesday with a male partner, who was believed to be her boyfriend. However, some of the hotel workers suspected a foul play when they caught the unnamed boyfriend trying to check out of the hotel alone.

He was accosted and followed into the room where he had been with his girlfriend when the deceased was found lying still and cold. The hotel workers raised the alarm, held the suspect and handed him over to the police for investigation.

Eyewitnesses told newsmen the girl was sighted at the bar of the hotel with the young man, where they both drank Campari on Wednesday night before retiring to their hotel room.

When contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke, confirmed the death and arrest of the suspect but cautioned against stretching insinuations about what could have gone wrong.

“Yes, it is true. They told me about somebody who died in a hotel room. We don’t know the reason or what may have killed her, but they said they are suspecting fumigation. So, be careful about what you write about it. We are not really sure about the cause of her death but it is true.”
