Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos Central Senatorial District, Yomi Idowu, has said that his service in office if given the opportunity will be for youth empowerment and development.

Idowu, who gave the promise while delivering his speech at a leadership town hall meeting organised by Campaign for Transformative Governance (CFTG) at Marquee Hall of the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu in Lagos, said that he was more conversant with the problems the youth are facing in the country, hence the need for the public to bestow him with power to face the situation headlong.

Besides, he said that he would uphold good governance.

adding that relevant laws to make people’s rights guaranteed and reorient their thinking that government is still functioning, will be put into action if emerged.

Besides, the senatorial candidate also vowed to advocate for 50 per cent of National Assembly allowance for the upgrade of colleges of education, while pushing for restructuring along lines of regional governance, and uniformity in cut-off marks for admission into federal and state universities.

In his response to the concerns of constituents on the high cost of governance, he promised to push for a return to regional government as a way out of the wasteful cost of governance.
