The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Tokunbo Abiru, and 2027 Lagos APC governorship aspirant, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, have congratulated Muslim faithful on the completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, urging residents to uphold the values of peace, unity and compassion.
In a goodwill message on Friday, Lagos APC said Eid-el-Fitr represents a period of sacrifice, discipline and unwavering faith, describing the festival as a time for gratitude, reflection and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.
The party commended the Muslim community for their devotion, prayers and contributions to societal development, noting that the spiritual sacrifices observed during Ramadan should inspire continued patience, generosity and love beyond the holy month. It also encouraged residents to use the festive season to strengthen communal bonds and extend kindness to the less privileged.
The Lagos APC reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive governance, religious harmony and policies aimed at fostering sustainable development across the state. The statement, signed by the party’s spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, wished Muslims a peaceful, joyful and safe Eid celebration.
“As a party deeply rooted in the progress and prosperity of Lagos State, we commend the Muslim community for their prayers, devotion, and continued contributions to the growth and stability of our society.
We recognize the spiritual sacrifices made during Ramadan and encourage all faithful to uphold the virtues of patience, generosity, and love beyond the holy month.”
Similarly, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful across Lagos East, Nigeria and the global Muslim community, describing Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice and renewal.
Abiru expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting Muslims the strength to complete the fasting period, noting that Ramadan reinforces enduring values such as compassion, discipline, unity and generosity. He urged the faithful to sustain these virtues by promoting peace, tolerance and mutual respect within their communities.
The lawmaker also called on Nigerians to use the Eid celebration to offer prayers for the nation and its leadership, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeking divine guidance, peace, stability and national progress. He prayed that the season would usher in renewed hope, prosperity and good health for all citizens.
“I urge Muslims to sustain the virtues imbibed during the fasting period by promoting peace, tolerance and mutual respect in their communities. Such values are essential for building a harmonious and prosperous society.”
In the same vein, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) felicitated Muslim faithful and Lagosians, describing Eid-el-Fitr as both a celebration and a moment for reflection on the ideals of love, generosity and peaceful coexistence.
Adediran commended the Muslim Ummah for their commitment to fasting, prayers and charity during Ramadan, stressing that the virtues demonstrated during the holy month are essential for building a cohesive and progressive Lagos.
He urged residents to sustain the spirit of unity and tolerance beyond the festive period, emphasising that Lagos derives strength from its diversity and shared pursuit of collective progress.
The governorship aspirant also advised citizens to celebrate responsibly, remain security-conscious and pray for continued peace and prosperity in the state.
“Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time of celebration but also a moment for reflection on the ideals of love, generosity, and peaceful coexistence. I encourage all Lagosians to continue to embody these virtues in our daily lives as we work together towards a safer, more inclusive, and prosperous Lagos,” he said.
