As the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) primaries kick off today, a Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant from Surulere Constituency II, Hon. Quadri Onikeku has lauded the adoption of Direct Primary, noting that it will cause the emergence of choice candidates of the party.

Onikeku, who spoke with journalists at the weekend, said the mode of primary would reward aspirants that had positively impacted on the electorate, describing it as a blessing in disguise.

He said: “As a grassroots person and a mobiliser, I am very eager for the emancipation of my people. I have been able to identify their challenges and I am ready to solve them if I am elected.

“The roads are also in state of decrepit, with many still left untarred. I will use my influence to bring government’s presence to the Itire/Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), to give the area a new face.”
