Lagos to incorporate 7up bottling company’s staff as traffic mayors

The Lagos State Government has planned to incorporate some members of staff of the 7up Bottling Company as Traffic Mayors.

The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Olawale Musa, said this during a visit to the company on Wednesday in Lagos.

Musa accompanied by the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, said it was part of the traffic management engagement.

“I commend the company for its efforts in maintaining traffic order and I call for the sustaining of a harmonious partnership with the ministry on traffic management.

“I encourage you to integrate traffic management education and compliance into the company’s staff training programme,” he said.

While speaking, the General Manager, LASTMA, Mr. Bakare-Oki, highlighted the critical need for the company’s truck drivers to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations at all times.

Responding, the General Manager of the 7Up Plant, Mr. Dominion Izedonmi, expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving traffic management around its facility.

He revealed plans to establish a holding bay for trucks accessing the plant, aimed at reducing congestion and easing pressure on the surrounding road network.

Others present at the visit include the Head of LASTMA Zone 12, Mr. Oduyebo Oluwole; the Security Manager of the 7Up Plant, Mr. John Obong; and staff members from the ministry.
