Lagos hospital beats six others to win healthcare provider award

The hospital was chosen as the winner from a shortlist of seven nominated hospitals from Lagos, Abuja, Warri and Jos.

Three years in succession, Reddington Hospital, Lagos has won the ‘Private Healthcare Provider of the Year Award’ at the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA) ceremony held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island. The hospital won the same award in 2014 and 2015.

The hospital was chosen as the winner from a shortlist of seven nominated hospitals from Lagos, Abuja, Warri and Jos.

The annual awards ceremony, sometimes referred to as the ‘Medical Oscars,’ is designed to recognise the best organisations that have contributed in a remarkable manner to the improvement of the Nigerian healthcare sector.

Speaking after receiving the award, Chief Operating Officer of the hospital, Mr. Emmanuel Matthews stated “winning this award for the third time in a row gives us confidence that we are moving towards achieving our ambition to make quality healthcare available in Nigeria that compares favourably to the very best international standards.”

According to Matthews, “The award is a testimony to our ethos of continuously striving for excellence in all areas of the services we offer our patient community. In the past year we have opened a new paediatric department complete with a dedicated emergency room and medical laboratory. Also in the past few weeks we have completed our new maternity ward with a specialised neonatal and special care baby unit.”

The same comments were echoed by the hospital’s Clinical Director, Dr. Charles Iwuala, who said, “we continuous strive to provide outstanding services that meet our customers’ expectations. This award is dedicated to the hard working staff of Reddington Hospital both in Victoria Island and Ikeja.”
