Lagos LG Polls: Sanwo-Olu votes, commends LASIEC’s conduct

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his wife, Ibijoke, arrived at his Ward E3 Polling Unit 006, at St. Stephen Primary School, Lagos Island, at around 11:06 am and voted around 11:10 am during the ongoing local council election in the state.

Speaking after voting, Sanwo-Olu commended the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for doing a good job, following positive feedback about the election statewide.

The governor further stated that, although there were a few logistical issues, the situation meant that LASIEC had put forth its best effort to conduct the election.

Although about 634 voters were expected at Polling Unit 006, where the governor cast his vote, fewer than 50 eligible voters had shown up, which reinforces the general notion that there was low turnout across the entire state.

Sanwo-Olu stated that voting materials arrived early at most polling units, with only a few instances of late arrival.
