The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District, Adewale Segun Sunday, have filed a petition against the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Adebule Idiat Oluranti, over alleged submission of forged certificate to National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

Sunday, in his petition marked EPT/LAG/SEN/04/2023 and dated March 18, 2023, alleged that Adebule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not qualified to contest for the election and was not duly elected by majority of lawful votes.

Also, Moshood Adegoke Salvador and the Labour Party (LP) alleged that the election that produced Adebule as winner was marred by violence, intimidation, fracas, threat, malpractices and ballot boxes snatching, over-voting, boycott of the BVAS machines and others.

He said that the entirety of the Lagos Central Senatorial District votes were invalid by reason of substantial non-compliance with the provision of the Electoral Act.
