Amid growing insecurity and in solidarity with the ongoing protest for the release of kidnapped school children in Oyo State, Lagosians have taken to the streets, echoing their calls for action.
In a video shared by AIT, it showcases passionate protesters wielding placards, chanting “social revolution” as they march from Ikeja under bridge.
A participant emphasized the protest’s peaceful nature, declaring a resolute “No to abduction” and “Bring back our children.”
While the demonstration focuses on the urgent issue of insecurity, participants are also raising awareness about the kidnappings in Bauchi and the school bus incident in Kogi, highlighting the wider crisis affecting the nation.
Security personnel are present to regulate traffic and ensure order during the protest.
However, online reactions have pointed out the irony, questioning why security forces can manage roads for demonstrators but struggle to patrol the areas where these abductions occur.
