LASTMA warns film, skit makers over unauthorised use of uniform
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority Management (LASTMA) has said it will prosecute any skit or filmmaker found using its uniform without permission.
LASTMA General Manager, Bakare Oki, in a statement said the decision was made after a viral video on social media showed two actors using its uniforms to portray it negatively.
In the video, one of the actors was being revived through a diabolical means after impounding a white ‘Sienna’ space bus on the road.
This is, however, not the first time the traffic management body issued such threat.
On August 2023, LASTMA had warned film and skit makers against unauthorised use of its uniforms in movies and comedy skits.

Reacting to the latest video, LASTMA spokesman Taofiq Adebayo said film or skit makers who portray LASTMA officers without obtaining the necessary permission should desist from the act or face punishment.
He implore the National Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners and other affiliated bodies to warn their members.
He stated that anyone caught using the agency’s uniform without an approved permit would be prosecuted with Section 79 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
