A legislator representing Kaltungo/Shongom Constituency, Gombe State, in the House of Representatives, Fatima Binta Bello, has organised training on skills for 640 women.
The participants received N20,000 each as take-off grant for their businesses upon graduation. They were selected from the lawmaker’s constituency as well as Billiri and Balanga Local Government Areas, and were trained in soap, detergent, shampoo, air freshener, pomade and curry making.
Bello described the training as an economic advantage that would help the recipients in their marital responsibilities. She therefore urged them to make judicious use of the grant and also pass the knowledge acquired to their neighbours.
