The Faculty of Arts, Lead City University, Ibadan, has finalised arrangements to host the third edition of its flagship cultural event, Omoge Àsà Cultural Pageantry, alongside an entrepreneurial showcase and the Ojúde Lead City Cultural Extravaganza.
The event, slated for Thursday, April 16, 2026, will be held at Adeline Hall at the university campus, drawing students, cultural enthusiasts and dignitaries from across the country.
According to the organisers, activities will commence with the Ojúde Cultural Extravaganza at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Omoge Àsà Cultural Pageantry at noon.
Both segments are designed to promote indigenous culture and stimulate creative enterprise among the youth.
The programme is expected to feature prominent personalities, including Erelu Abiola Dosunmu Fernandez, who will serve as Chairperson and Royal Mother of the Day. Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, is billed as Distinguished Guest of Honour, while Mr. Ayodele Olawande will attend as Special Guest of Honour.
Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo, will serve as Chief Host, while the Registrar, Dr. Oyebola Ayeni, is the host. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Anjola Robbin, is the convener and initiator of the event.
Robbin disclosed that the pageantry would also feature contestants drawn from 13 institutions across the South-West, adding that Commissioners for Culture and Tourism from Oyo and Ekiti states are also expected to attend.
She noted that the event, with the theme, ‘Cultural Elegance,’ is aimed at celebrating Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage while creating platforms for youth engagement, creativity and entrepreneurship.
