LSSTF, bank partner to improve security in Lagos
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) and Sterling Bank Nigeria Plc, have reiterated commitment towards sustenance of a safe and secure environment, where businesses can thrive for prosperity of residents.
Speaking during a visit by the management team of LSSTF, to the bank’s headquarters in Lagos, its Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. ßAbdurrazaq Balogun, said the issue of security was critical with Lagos being a mega city and the attendant daily influx of migrants from other parts of the country.
This, he said, puts pressure on state infrastructure and creates higher probability of robbery and violent crimes as well as increase issue of drug-related offences among the youths.
He said LSSTF has been effective in facilitating safety and security in the state due of its transparency and accountability of showing donors that their monies are being expended judiciously in the procurement of vehicles, logistics and training for the security agencies in the state.
The Managing Director/CEO of Sterling Bank, Mr. Abubakar Suleiman, while welcoming the team, stated that the bank has partnered with the Fund since its inception in 2007 by making significant contributions towards the improvement of security in the state.
